Max Brenner Chocolate by the Bald Man!

On Thursday, my friends and I went to Max Brenner for Restaurant week in Philadelphia. It was $20 for a 3 course lunch. It was definitely worth it. By the time I was half way done the 2nd course, I didn't even want dessert anymore! I got pictures of everything my friends and I got, except for the Chicken Alfredo.

The atmosphere was very calming and quiet since it surprisingly wasn't busy. The staff was very attentive and understanding. We waited for over an hour before a friend came, but they didn't kick us out or urge us to order something first. We were allowed to wait.
The Interior of Max Brenner
The inside is absolutely gorgeous. This isn't even half it. I actually couldn't see most of it since we were seated in the corner. The bathroom is super creepy. It's a tiny little closet-sized room with extremely dim lights and weird music. My sister said that the bathroom's mirror said something like "You look absolutely beautiful." Or something of the sort.
(Left to Right): Molly's White Corn Croquettes, Onion Rings with Chocolate Ranch dip
Most of us chose between the corn croquettes or the onion rings. I think there was a cheese blend dip at the bottom of each croquette, but I'm not quite sure. It was sprinkled with cheese and paprika which you can actually see on the plate.

The onion rings weren't burnt but had a slight burnt taste to it. The dark chocolate ranch dip was delish! You couldn't really taste chocolate or ranch, but it had the tangy/salty taste of ranch but I think it was canceled with the chocolate. You really tasted no hint of chocolate.

(Left to Right): The Brenner Burger, Mushroom and Ricotta Pizza, The Sloppy Max
The Brenner Burger had a few onion rings, cheese, tomato, and lettuce. It was seasoned with their own BBQ sauce that I really liked. The patty itself is made with shredded ground beef. I ordered it medium-rare, but I feel as if it was a bit too under cooked. It just didn't look right. I think since it was grounded beef and not steak, it wasn't the same.

I can't tell you about the others since I didn't eat them, but the pizza is just flat bread and the Sloppy Max is like a burger version of the sloppy joe. Each burger is served with 2 slices of pickles and a small cup of fries.

(Left to Right): Banana Tempura Fondue, Caramel Sauce, Chocolate Chunk Pizza

The Banana Tempura was awesome. I was so full though that I didn't finish it. I only had about 2 pieces of banana tempura and 4 strawberries. The fondue came with a chocolate dip and caramel dip. I enjoyed the caramel dip more than the chocolate. I couldn't wait to delve into the fondue so when I took a bite of the banana it was scorching hot!

The pizza dessert is just a white and milk chocolate "sauce" and a marshmallow topping. The bread was rather plain, but since everything was sweet, it was fine.

I'm actually disappointed that I didn't finish everything. By the time I was half way done the burger, I really was full and couldn't finish the other half. Eating dessert was a pain for me since I was so full. I was really upset I couldn't finish it and by the time I got home, the tempura wasn't good anymore. It was just cold, fried bananas.
